Breeze Thru Run Thrus

Agility Run Thrus - Indoors

Dear Breeze Thru students & friends;

It has been just over a year since I moved into my current space off of Putney Road in North Brattleboro and I want to thank all of you for your patronage, support and friendship during the last 12 months. Obviously, I couldn't have made it through a successful year of Breeze Thru classes, workshops, lessons, rentals and events without you!!!

I will be holding the year's last Agility Run Thrus this Saturday, December 19th from 9am - Noon. As a small thanks to all of you, there will be no charge for Saturday's Run Thrus. In the spirit of the season, however, I will be encouraging donations for the rescue organization Canine Guardians for Life. This non-profit New Hampshire based rescue is responsible for introducing me to my latest addition, Smidgen, who hails originally from W. Virginia. Judith Apy and her late husband spearheaded the effort to bring adoptable dogs from several southern states. With the help of volunteers and fosters, Judith continues to select dogs from W. Virginia shelters to vet out, spay or neuter, temperament test and then bring to New England for permanent adoption. As you might guess, all of this costs a lot of money (and Judith doesn't cut corners when it comes to quality care and treatment for these dogs).

I realize that we are all strapped in this current economy and especially so at this time of year. But I hope you will consider making a donation to Canine Guardians for Life (they are a 501(c)(3) non profit, Judith reminded me, so donations are a tax deduction) when you attend this Saturday's Run Thrus. I will also be raffling off a new single agility jump to earn cash for the organization. Please visit their web site at: www.CanineGuardiansForLife.org

ALSO in the spirit of the holidays, I thought it would be fitting for folks to bring cookies and other goodies to share. I will provide some drinks (nothing alcoholic, sorry!) as well as some challenging agility courses for everyone!

Thanks and I look forward to seeing you all on Saturday!

WHEN: Saturday, January 23, 2010
9am - 12:00 noon

WHERE: Breeze Thru Agility indoor facility
113 Technology Drive
Brattleboro, VT

WHAT: GREAT TRAINING OPPORTUNITY!

WHO: Dogs of all levels (who have done at least beginner and adv. beginner agility sessions) are welcome! This is an especially good chance to get trial-like practice with young or inexperienced dogs and their handlers.

HOW: Courses will be set for 2-3 different skill levels (nested courses with different color cones for each level) from Novice to Advanced. Sign up for your jump height (do not plan to jump higher than what you've been doing in class). Treats and toys are allowed, you have 2-3 minutes to do the course, trying difficult parts again, or even making up your own course if you wish. Jump heights offered are 4" - 20".

COST: $12 per dog -- for minimum of 3 runs. Day of registration sign up. Walk thrus throughout the morning, after each round of dogs has run.

Breeze Thru has a 5,500 sf agility ring with 3/4" R & B tenderfoot rubber flooring. There is parking, plenty of crating space, and bathrooms in the building. For directions see my web site. Hope to see you and your dogs there!
